Ranch Dressing Is More Than Just A Salad Topper

Ranch dressing has been the most popular salad dressing in America since the 1990s. It has been used for dips, as a mayonnaise replacement for sandwiches or burgers and, of course, as a salad dressing. There’s probably a bottle in your cabinet or refrigerator. Here are some tips on other tasty ways you can use your ranch dressing. Vegans can join in the fun with Hampton Creek Just Ranch which only uses plant-based ingredients.

Ranch Roasted Chickpeas

These crunchy snacks are full of protein. They are also easy to make. Just roll rinsed chickpeas (also called garbanzo beans) in a bowl of ranch dressing. Add one teaspoon of coconut oil. Place on a cookie tray or other flat pan in a pre-heated oven at 425 degrees F for 45 minutes.

Mayo Substitute for Coleslaw

Just use ranch dressing in place of mayonnaise for your favorite creamy coleslaw recipe for a bit more zip in your slaw. Makes a great compliment for a burger or sandwich topped with ranch dressing.

Pasta Sauce and Salads

Use ranch dressing and bacon bits (or vegetarian bacon bits) to liven up pasta or potato salads. Add a dash of your favorite mustard for extra zip and color. Omnivores can make a great alfredo or sauce with ranch dressing. In a saucepan, place one half cup of milk and one half cup of grated Parmesan cheese, two tablespoons of butter and either a tablespoon of ranch dressing or a packet of ranch dressing mix. Place over medium heat and stir until blended and creamy. Add freshly ground pepper or parsley if desired.

Filling Mixers

Do you like to make stuffed peppers, stuffed mushrooms, stuffed potato skins, jalapeno poppers, pirogues or other foods with fillings? Add a dash of ranch dressing to make a different, creamy version to your fillings.

Pizza Topping

Ranch dressing makes a creamy-smooth compliment to all kinds of pizzas, especially pizzas without cheese. Just drizzle on the top of a slice and enjoy.

Ranch Grilled Cheese

Make your grilled cheese sandwich as you normally would, except spread a dash of ranch dressing on the bread before placing cheese slices on and then grill.
